Welcome to HAY HARRIS Tae Kwon-Do Academy...

Tae kwon do means literally (tae) to jump, kick and smash with the foot;  (kwon) to punch and destroy with the fist;  (do) means the art or way of life;  and it is the name of the modern Korean art of self-defense.

There are two majors styles of Tae Kwon-Do in the world today, which are the International Tae Kwon-Do Federation, and the World Tae Kwon-Do Federation. The principle differences between these styles are the patterns and the sparring. The sparring in (ITF) is semi contact with pads on the hands , feet, and head guard. The (WTF) is full contact with bare hands and feet, wearing body armour and head guard.

We practice International Tae Kwon-Do Federation Style (ITF), a Korean martial arts rich in history and tradition. Our school emphasises on discipline, respect and integrity. Self-defense training includes the use of traditional and modern techniques, punches and kicks are utilised equally.

The class’s routines vary but work out is always intense. Classes include warm ups and strengthening exercises, stretching and rigorous routine of blocks, kicks, punches, self-defense drills, and non-contact free sparring for juniors.
